UNICEF Rights Respecting Schoool
Selattyn C.E. School has been successfully registered as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School.
As part of our Local Curriculum, we are working towards embedding children’s human rights into our ethos and culture. The award is based on the principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation.
To complete the award we are required to implement evidence-based standards that cover the leadership of the school, knowledge and understanding of children’s rights, ethos and relationships and the empowerment of children.
The programme unifies a range of educational priorities; the global dimension, social and emotional aspects of learning, community cohesion and sustainable development.
Work on this programme will continue to form an important part of our developing Local Curriculum, and our global community cohesion, over the coming years.
